Gearbox and Drivetrain

Gearbox, Clutch and Drivetrain Repairs

Manual and automatic gearbox repairs, clutch and flywheel work, diffs, driveshafts and 4x4 driveline faults — diagnosed before anything is opened.

A gearbox rarely fails without warning. Slipping, delayed engagement, whining on load or a shudder off the line all point somewhere specific, and the fault is often clutch, mounts, linkage or a sensor rather than the gearbox itself.

We confirm what is actually wrong first, then repair, recondition or replace. Automatics get oil and cooler condition checked and codes read before a gearbox is condemned.

Common symptoms

What you notice, and what it usually means

A symptom narrows it down. Testing confirms it — we do not replace parts on a guess.

  • Revs climb but the vehicle does not pull

Clutch slipping, or clutch packs in an automatic.

  • Crunch into a gear, especially cold

Synchros, gear oil condition or clutch not releasing fully.

  • Shudder pulling away

Clutch, flywheel or engine and gearbox mounts.

  • Clicking on full lock

CV joint, usually with a split boot behind it.

  • Whine or hum that rises with road speed

Wheel bearing, diff or a worn drivetrain bearing.

How it runs

The repair process

  1. 01

    Road test

Driven under load to feel where the fault happens and when.

  2. 02

    Inspect and scan

Oil condition, leaks, mounts, linkage and transmission fault codes.

  3. 03

    Quote the real fix

Repair, recondition or replace — with the reasoning explained.

  4. 04

    Do the work

Seals, bearings and wear items replaced while the unit is out.

  5. 05

    Test and hand over

Set up, oil filled to spec and road tested through every gear.

What People Say

Real feedback from BritzTech customers.

5 out of 5 stars
“Heinro doesn’t simply replace parts and hope for the best. He has a deep understanding of how engines and mechanical systems work, what causes failures, and how to properly diagnose and resolve the underlying problem. He took the time to identify the issues, explain what was happening and make sure the vehicle was properly attended to.”
